Even though we're in the middle of Fall Migration, things seem to have slowed down a bit in da 'hood. I've seen a few Scissortail Flycatchers wandering through, but no new visitors in about a week, with the exception of hawks! They are all over the place! I've seen about a 1/2 dozen Kestrals on the outskirts of town, and for the last month or so, this dude has been calling Castle Hills home! Best guess to my very untrained eye is that he's a young Red Shouldered Hawk. I've seen him soaring on the breeze a few times, but more often than not, he's make a mad dash for the center of a tree. This morning on the way to work I noticed him hanging out on the wires looking for a morning snack. He is beautiful!
